Andrea Giambruno and the car checked under Giorgia Meloni's house: "It was the secret services"

Andrea Giambruno and the car checked under Giorgia Meloni's house: "It was the secret services"

On the night between November 30 and December 1, 2023, two agents of the AISI , the internal secret service , “tinkered” with the car of Andrea Giambruno , the Mediaset journalist who at the time had already been publicly dumped by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after the 'Striscia la Notizia' off-camera scandal, while his Porsche was parked under the Prime Minister's house in the Eur area of Rome.

The Rome Public Prosecutor's Office wrote this in the investigation documents into the episode which had only become known at the end of April last year.

The news is reported today by a detailed article in La Stampa, which reconstructs the entire story. That evening Giambruno is at Giorgia Meloni's house to see her daughter Ginevra: in front of the house there are obviously the police officers of the Prime Minister's escort .

It's 4 in the morning when a black Mercedes with tinted windows stops near the prime minister's home, but not before passing twice on the street. A man gets out of the vehicle, a large SUV, and first approaches a white van used to deliver mail to the prime minister, then starts fiddling around near Giambruno's car with a device that looks like a metal detector.

The escort intervenes to ask for explanations but a second man gets out of the Mercedes, shows a badge and leaves . Already in the report of the escort police the two are identified as agents of the secret services , while the undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council Alfredo Mantovano , with delegation to the services, denies to the Copasir that the fact is based on an activity of the secret services.

Two people then enter the story, a presumed receiver who presents himself to the investigators to attribute the blame to himself together with a second person, in an interrogation interrupted by continuous phone calls. This is where the umpteenth twist arrives: La Stampa writes that according to the Rome Prosecutor's Office the two are in fact Aisi agents , who will shortly thereafter be transferred to another charge "without any motivation". They pass through the internal secret services of Aise , the foreign servants: one is sent to Iraq , the other to Tunisia .

Further fueling doubts about the story is what happened on November 29, 2023, just 24 hours before the raid on the car of the former first gentleman Giambruno: that day, two men tried to force the door of an apartment in the Eur that is located right above Meloni's . The story is told by the woman who lives inside the house, who manages to observe the couple through the peephole: "There were two of them. And one had a kind of microphone on his jacket . He was talking to his accomplice," she will tell investigators.

Two months ago, La Stampa adds, the Department of Public Security gave the order to find the second man, the friend of the alleged receiver. The Flying Squad in charge of the investigation was asked to transmit the entire file "to an important prefect with close relatives in the secret services," writes the Turin daily. However, when the news was published, the U-turn occurred: the search was suspended.
